I have a layout in my head but it is probably long until I can turn that into reality.. anyways, this website from grossgirl94 has an interesting menu column made of pictures instead of the refular way, it seems interesting and a bit close to what I imagine. those comic chatboxish roughish shapes in my head..

I think I want the background to be grids like a notebook! or maybe not, why not just try tho
